Extremely Busy in Slimbridge

Over the last couple of months we’ve been extremely busy in Slimbridge. We have been booked for, on average, around 4 events per weekend; the majority of these being weddings. Last weekend we had two birthday parties and two weddings. One of the weddings was right on our doorstep in the beautiful village of Slimbridge. The couple in question got married at the local church while the Spitting Pig Team laid tables and started the cooking process at the Village Hall. This was the first time we catered for this particular couple but it was great to hear that we were recommended by a friend of theirs. we have also catered for corporate events hosted by the Grooms employers. It meant we had a lot to live up to but that didn’t phase the chef, the Slimbridge pig was more succulent than ever and everyone commented on the crackling! For this particular wedding we did a traditional hog roast Slimbridge with a selection of homemade salads. There was a rustic coleslaw, a Mediterranean pasta salad and a tomato and cucumber medley. They chose roasted new potatoes in rosemary and garlic which are particularly nice with spit roasted pork. after the wedding we had a lot of great feedback from the guests along with a special thank you during the speeches. Not only did they mention the great food but they also mentioned how helpful the waiting team were. The other events we catered for also went well, one of them even led to another booking, a Christmas Party at the end of November. They have ordered the spit Roasted Slimbridge Turkey which is particularly popular at Christmas time.
The rest of the week is pretty quiet for us but the weekend is going to be another busy one with a total of six events booked from Friday through to Sunday. They range from birthday parties and weddings to corporate fun day’s and Christenings. We’ll be stretched but it will be a lot of fun. All the machines will be cleaned and ready for the Friday now just to order the pigs!!
