There’s something about Yeabridge Farm & Hideaway that gets you the second you arrive. Set deep in the Somerset countryside, with Ham Hill Country Park practically next door, this family-run venue feels like it was designed purely to make you exhale. With rolling green views stretching out in every direction, colour and character illuminating every corner, and an atmosphere so calm you feel like you’re in another world, it’s easy to let your hair down here. So when Hog Roast South Petherton got the call to cater a wedding here, we knew we were in for a real treat.
And what a day it turned out to be. With blue skies overhead and 90 excited guests ready to celebrate, the day couldn’t have been better.
Following a heartfelt outdoor ceremony and plenty of photo opportunities around the stunning grounds, everyone was more than ready to tuck into something delicious – luckily, our team had been busy preparing a feast worthy of the occasion.
The hog roast was the star, as it tends to be at our events – crisp, golden crackling with just the right crunch, tender pulled pork underneath, and sage and onion stuffing plus applesauce rounding it all off. Classic, comforting, and devoured in record time. But we didn’t stop there. Marinated chicken thighs kept things juicy for anyone after a lighter bite, grilled vegetable kebabs brought some smoky freshness to the table, and our vegan pulled-jackfruit sliders – loaded with hickory sauce – proved you don’t need meat to steal the show.
And, as we all know, no spread is complete without proper sides, especially with ninety hungry guests to feed, so Hog Roast South Petherton laid on the works: a tomato and mozzarella salad, a classic mixed salad, coleslaw with a bit of bite, and roasted new potatoes that disappeared almost as fast as they came out. Whatever plate people built, it worked.
Weddings like this are exactly why we love what we do. Great couple, great guests, a stunning backdrop, and food that brought everyone together at the end of a long, happy day. Yeabridge Farm & Hideaway gave us the perfect setting, and we’re just grateful we got to be part of the story.
