Hog Roast Clevedon: Cheers To Fifty Years!

Hog Roast SouthwestThere’s a reason 50th wedding anniversaries are nicknamed golden anniversaries, you know. The name comes from the medieval European tradition of giving gold as a gift to mark 50 years together, with this precious metal chosen because it doesn’t rust or tarnish – the idea behind it being that any marriage that lasts half a century has a similar resolve.

Naturally, that kind of milestone calls for something a little more epic than a card and a bunch of flowers, though. So when our latest clients realised their 50th anniversary was fast approaching, there was never really any question about whether they would celebrate – only how. After giving it a lot of thought, they decided to bring together 100 family members and friends for a party that was every bit as special as the occasion deserved.

Once they’d found a venue with enough space for everyone, attention quickly turned to the food – because let’s be honest, what kind of party doesn’t have a stellar menu to match? After looking into their options, the couple got in touch with Hog Roast Clevedon, and we were more than happy to take care of the catering. With a crowd of hungry guests to satisfy, we knew we needed a menu with plenty of choice, and there was an obvious place to start – the hog roast.

Slow-roasted until beautifully tender, the pork was served with crunchy crackling, sage and onion stuffing and applesauce, with rolls and wraps ready for guests to pile everything into. If you’re looking for the kind of spread that has people heading back for extra helpings before they’ve even properly finished their first, a hog roast always does the trick, and this happy couple were more than satisfied with the results.

There was plenty more waiting on the buffet, too. Hog Roast Clevedon rustled up fresh tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, coleslaw and new potatoes, giving guests some lighter options, Hog Roast Southwestwhile mountains of sweet potato and classic fries were there for anyone who believes no celebration meal is complete without chips.

And then, with full stomachs and glasses raised, it was time to put the food-fuelled energy to good use. The evening’s Ceilidh dancing got underway, giving everyone another reason to keep the celebrations going.

For Hog Roast Clevedon, being part of such a significant occasion was a genuine pleasure. Fifty years deserves a memorable party – and this one certainly had all the ingredients.
