We’re very lucky that we get a lot of lovely feedback at Hog Roast Tiverton. A kind word after a successful event, a glowing message the morning after, the occasional review that genuinely makes the whole team stop and smile. But when Debbie and Tappy described us as playing an important part in creating memories they’ll cherish forever – that one landed differently. Because that’s exactly why we do this.

When catering is done right, it becomes woven into the occasion itself rather than sitting awkwardly on the sidelines of it. That’s what Hog Roast Tiverton chases with every single event, and on June 20th, with 180 guests and two separate food services to deliver, there was plenty of opportunity to get it right.
Our day started bright and early, so that by 2:30pm, the 70 daytime guests were being treated to a canapé service that set the tone beautifully – pan seared fillet of beef, handmade gourmet sausages, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini and smoked Scottish salmon, all presented on wooden platters that looked as good as everything tasted. The goal was to create the kind of arrival spread that makes guests excited for what’s to come – and we nailed it.
When the evening guests trickled in and the total number of people climbed to 180, our main buffet took centre stage. A whole hog roast with crackling, stuffing and applesauce formed the heart of it, surrounded by tomato and mozzarella salad, coleslaw, mixed salad and a 50/50 split of herby new potatoes and sweet potato and classic fries with salt, vinegar and sauces. Veggie and vegan guests had grilled vegetable kebabs with optional halloumi, tzatziki and flatbreads, and the younger guests were kept very happily occupied with a selection of sandwiches.
Every detail was considered. Every guest was fed. And Debbie and Tappy – from that very first conversation right through to the final service – felt supported the entire way through.
