Is it just us, or does the end of the official wedding season always feel a bit bittersweet? On one hand, our bookings start to slow down as the weather cools – let’s face it, most couples love a sunny, warm-weather backdrop for their big day. But on the bright side? The autumn calendar is absolutely bursting with wedding fairs! And if you know anything about Hog Roast Wadebridge, you’ll know we physically cannot resist a good ol’ wedding exhibition.
If there’s a showcase nearby and we have a rare free weekend, you can bet your bottom dollar we’ll be there. Luckily, the stars aligned last weekend, and our diary was completely clear for both days of the last Royal Cornwall Showground Wedding Fair of 2026.
Billed as “the ultimate wedding show”, it brought together more than 70 exhibitors across five bustling areas at the Royal Cornwall Pavilion Centre. Couples could explore at their own pace, soak up the inspiration and chat with the South West’s top wedding experts – including Hog Roast Wadebridge.
Now, with so many brilliant suppliers under one roof, you might be wondering how we kept our stall buzzing all weekend. And it was – buzzing. The answer is simple: we had something tasty up our sleeves. Alongside chatting to couples about their catering plans and handing out as many business cards as humanly possible, we prepared mouth-watering hog roast samples to show people exactly what they can expect if they book Hog Roast Wadebridge for their big day.
Needless to say, there’s nothing quite like bonding over a bite of crackling to get people chatting about their dream wedding menus. We even spotted a few couples sneaking back for a second sample. (We pretended not to notice.)
By the time Sunday evening rolled around, our voices were a bit hoarse, but our hearts were completely full. We handed out a record number of brochures and even locked in quite a few bookings for the coming wedding seasons right there on the spot. And if you ask us, that’s not a bad way to wave goodbye to wedding season 2026.
