Want A Menu That Feels More ‘You’? Hog Roast Looe Is Happy To Design Bespoke Spreads!

Hog Roast LooeMost catering companies hand you a folder, point to page four and say “pick one.” And look, sometimes that works fine. But sometimes you’ve got a vision in your head that doesn’t quite match anything on offer – and that’s where a lot of people get stuck.

Not with us, though.

Hog Roast Looe has never been the folder-and-page-four type. We’ve been doing this long enough to know that the best events aren’t built around what’s easiest for the caterer. They’re built around what the client actually wants. So while we absolutely have some fantastic set menus ready to go, we treat them more as a starting point than a rulebook.

If someone wants to swap dishes around, tweak ingredients or build something completely unique from scratch, we’re all ears – after all, half the fun of catering is making each menu feel personal to the people behind the event.

That flexibility came in handy recently at a pre-wedding welcome dinner for 70 guests. The couple had a clear idea of the atmosphere they wanted – easy, informal, the kind of meal that gets a room of people who mostly don’t know each other yet chatting like old friends within the first twenty minutes. They didn’t want anything too structured. They wanted it to feel like a really, really good party.

So Hog Roast Looe designed something around exactly that. Marinated chicken thighs, handmade British beef burgers and gourmet sausages off the grill, with melted cheese and fried onions for anyone who wanted to load up. Fries came out alongside potato salad and coleslaw, plus a full line-up of Sauce Shop sauces for the condiment enthusiasts in the crowd – and there are always a few.

Vegans and vegetarians had their own brilliant spread too: grilled vegetable kebabs and BBQ pulled jackfruit buns that honestly converted a few meat-eaters on the night.

The couple said it landed exactly right. Warm, relaxed and better than they’d even imagined.

That outcome isn’t accidental – it’s what happens when the menu is built around the people eating it, not the other way around.
