When it comes to weddings, few venues in South Wales can match the charm of Insole Court in Cardiff. With its historic architecture and beautiful gardens, it provided the perfect backdrop for a summer wedding on 29th August 2025. For such a special occasion, the couple chose Hog Roast Cardiff, managed by James, Rob, and Harry, to deliver a wedding feast that blended rustic flavours with refined presentation.
The centrepiece of the menu was a classic whole roasted pig, slow-cooked until the meat was melt-in-the-mouth tender and the crackling irresistibly golden. Served with traditional sage and onion stuffing and sweet apple sauce, it offered everything guests love about a true hog roast. To make sure everyone could join in, there was also a full selection of bread rolls and wraps, including gluten free options on request.
But the wedding spread didn’t stop there. To add colour and freshness, guests were treated to a trio of sides: tomato and mozzarella salad, a crisp mixed salad, and our signature creamy coleslaw. For those craving comfort food, a serving of traditional and sweet potato fries, finished with a choice of sauces, salt, and vinegar, was a big hit.
Adding an extra layer of indulgence to the feast, our chefs fired up the grill to prepare tender marinated chicken thighs, packed with smoky, savoury flavour – a
dish that disappeared quickly from the buffet table.
At Hog Roast Cardiff, we’re proud of our dedication to inclusivity, and the wedding menu reflected that. Guests who preferred a vegetarian or vegan option enjoyed our popular grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (served without halloumi for vegans), paired with wraps, tzatziki, and a sweet chilli dip. Every plate was bursting with flavour, ensuring no guest felt left out.
The food was served buffet-style on sustainable wooden crockery and cutlery, keeping things both elegant and eco-friendly. With 60 guests gathered at one of our partnered venues, it was a true celebration of food, family, and love.
