Weddings aren’t just about the big day itself, they’re a whole season of celebrations! From engagement parties and bridal showers to hen nights and stag dos, there’s plenty of fun to be had before you say “I do.”

Recently, we had the absolute pleasure of helping one lucky groom-to-be celebrate his stag in proper style – with a mouth-watering hog roast, of course! Let’s just say, his guests are still talking about how good everything tasted!
The bash took place at Castle Farm in Capel-y-Ffin, a gorgeous little cottage-style hideaway tucked right in the heart of the Black Mountains. “Picturesque” doesn’t even begin to cover it. Think: rolling green fields, total privacy, and direct access to the Brecon Beacons National Park. It couldn’t have been more perfect for our group of nature-loving lads.
After a day exploring the great outdoors, the group of 17 came back hungry and ready for something special – and our team (Rob, Harry, and James) did not disappoint. On the menu? A full hog roast, complete with golden crackling, homemade stuffing, and classic apple sauce. Add a mountain of soft rolls and wraps for DIY hog roast sandwiches, and everyone was happily building their own creations and comparing “best combo” bragging rightss.
On the side, we had bright, colourful and fresh salad options. Consisting of mixed salad, tomato and mozzarella salad, and homemade coleslaw with a zesty lemon kick, this buffet had flavour in spades! The guests were particularly impressed by our homemade sweet potato and classic fries. A quick dash of salt, vinegar, and a drizzle of Sauce Shop magic, and they disappeared quicker than you could believe.
Those steering clear of meat were just as thrilled with the veggie option! Hog Roast Abergavenny’s grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers with flatbread and tzatziki dip went down a storm among the whole group. Yes, meat-enthusiasts included!
All in all, Hog Roast Abergavenny had a cracking time catering this event and we wish the groom all the best for his wedding day!
