If you need help making those big life moments feel even bigger, you can always count on Hog Roast Weston-Super-Mare to step up to the plate (sorry, not sorry).
We’ve been doing this for a long time now – over thirty years, if you can believe it – and somewhere along the way we figured out that great catering doesn’t start with fancy extras or overly complicated menus. It starts with the basics: good ingredients treated properly. Sounds pretty simple, right? But trust us when we say it makes a huge difference.
That’s why everything we use is sourced locally where possible, guaranteeing each dish is packed with fresh, seasonal and free-range ingredients. It’s not just about ticking boxes either – you can genuinely taste the difference. The flavours are fuller, the colours are brighter and everything just feels more authentic. And yes, we’re big believers that presentation matters too. People always say they don’t mind how food looks but let’s be honest – if it looks good, it’s already halfway there.
We saw that play out perfectly at a recent retirement party we catered.
The brief was straightforward enough: a proper hog roast, a selection of sides, and something just as appealing for veggie and vegan guests. Nothing over the top – but it still needed that “wow” factor.
Rob, our catering manager, got to work early and took his time (as he always does) slow-roasting the hog over a period of hours until it reached that sweet spot – crispy, golden skin on the outside and soft, juicy meat underneath. By the time the pig was ready it had drawn a bit of a crowd, which is how it usually goes. There’s just something about seeing a whole pig carved fresh that gets people excited.
Once served, everything came together nicely. The pork, the crackling and herby stuffing all found its way onto soft baps with applesauce. Alongside that, Hog Roast Weston-super-Mare had laid out
fresh salads that looked like works of art, creamy coleslaw and roasted new potatoes that looked as wholesome as they tasted.
And importantly, the meat-free options held their own – our grilled vegetable kebabs and BBQ-pulled jackfruit buns gave everyone something to enjoy, not just something to “make do” with.
By the end of the night, plates were full, people were relaxed and everyone was in great spirits thanks to Hog Roast Weston-super-Mare’s mouth-watering spread.
