On the 3rd of August, we had the absolute pleasure of catering a truly lovely event in Wellington, an 80th birthday celebration surrounded by close family and friends. With just 14 guests, it was a small, intimate gathering, but packed with warmth, laughter, and plenty of good food.
Our team: Rob, James, and Harry were on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. And when it comes to milestone birthdays, we believe the food should be just as memorable as the occasion. So we brought along one of our favourites: the classic hog roast.
The pig was slow-roasted to perfection, with that golden crackling everyone loves, served alongside soft bread rolls and wraps (yes, including gluten-free!), apple sauce, and our much-loved sage and onion stuffing. It’s comfort food at its best and perfect for a relaxed summer birthday lunch.
We also made sure there was something delicious for everyone, with our grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers on offer for veggie and vegan guests (minus the halloumi for the plant-based crew). These came with wraps, tzatziki, and a sweet chilli sauce that added just the right kick.
Even though it was a smaller celebration, we gave it the full Hog Roast Wellington treatment—thoughtful service, tasty food, and plenty of care in every detail. Everything was served with quality napkins and our eco-friendly plates and cutlery, keeping things simple but stylish.
Turning 80 is a pretty big deal, and it was a real honour to be part of such a special day. There’s something lovely about an event where everyone knows each other, where stories are shared, and where the food brings everyone together.
