When it comes to weddings, there’s a lot you can leave to chance… but food definitely isn’t one of them. It’s one of the biggest days you’ll ever plan and chances are you’ve imagined how it’ll all come together more than once. The outfits, the venue, the music – and yes, the meal. Because if there’s one thing guests always remember (and talk about afterwards), it’s the food.

And let’s be real for a second – weddings are long days. There’s the ceremony, the mingling, the photos, the waiting around, the speeches… it all adds up. By the time dinner rolls around, people aren’t just a bit peckish – they’re properly hungry. That’s where Hog Roast Tetbury comes in.
We understand that you want everything to run smoothly without the catering taking over the entire day. It should feel seamless, like it just fits into the celebration. That’s exactly what we aim for – good food, served at the right moments, keeping everyone happy and fuelled from start to finish.
At a recent wedding we catered, the couple asked us to go all out for 180 guests – and we were more than up for it.
We kicked things off with a round of handmade canapés, which guests could enjoy while chatting and settling in. Think pan-seared fillet of beef served with mini Yorkshire puddings and a touch of horseradish cream, alongside Scottish smoked salmon, halloumi and tomato skewers, and chicken skewers. Just enough to take the edge off and get people excited for what was coming next.
Then came the main event.
Hog Roast Tetbury’s signature hog roast took centre stage, complete with crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing and plenty of applesauce. On the side, we served tomato and mozzarella salad, fresh mixed salad, creamy coleslaw and roasted new potatoes. There was plenty to go around and no one left the table hungry – not even the veggie or vegan guests. For them, Hog Roast Tetbury rustled up our special pulled jackfruit buns, bursting with smoky, hickory goodness which made everyone feel included.

Later on, as the evening rolled in and the party picked up, we fired things up again. With an extra 60 guests joining, we served a relaxed buffet of handmade British beef burgers, topped with fried onions, melted cheese, and all the extras people love.
It was a busy one, no doubt – but seeing everyone enjoying themselves made it completely worth it.
