Most corporate events tend to follow a pretty familiar script. A packed agenda, a few motivational slides, some networking small talk. And somewhere in the middle of it all? Food. Usually an afterthought. Often forgettable. But here’s the thing: your team will remember what they ate. Maybe not the keynote. Maybe not the icebreaker. But the food? That sticks.
That’s exactly why getting your catering right isn’t just a nice-to-have – it’s actually doing some serious heavy lifting for your event behind the scenes. Good food keeps energy up, puts people in a good mood and sends a message that you actually care about the experience you’re creating. It’s one of those details that quietly holds the whole day together.
Hog Roast Exeter gets this. We’ve catered for businesses of all kinds – big teams, small teams, fancy venues, car parks – and the through-line is always the same: brilliant food doesn’t have to be complicated. It just has to be good.
Case in point: a recent morning event with Amazon, who’ve become a familiar name on Hog Roast Exeter’s client list over the years. The brief was refreshingly straightforward – something hearty, easy to serve and suited to an early kick-off.
The answer? Loaded fries. And before you raise an eyebrow, hear us out.
Hog Roast Exeter’s catering manager Rob put together a menu that was far more than the sum of its parts. Think crispy golden fries piled high with rich beef chilli, cooling sour cream, fresh guacamole and a proper helping of grated cheese – all served in easy-to-carry boxes that actually worked for people moving around. Practical? Absolutely. Delicious? Even more so.
Nobody was left out either. A fully vegan version with smoky bean chilli, dairy-free cheese and guacamole meant the whole team could get stuck in, no awkward questions asked.
The service ran smoothly, the boxes disappeared fast and Amazon’s team started their day properly fuelled and genuinely happy. Job done.
If you’ve got a corporate event coming up and want catering that people will actually talk about – give Hog Roast Exeter a shout. Simple, sorted, seriously good.
