Relieving brides and grooms of the unnecessary wedding stress that comes with catering is what Hog Roast Bristol does best. Well, that and cooking up an unforgettable meal that the whole family can enjoy! Recently, our extremely talented team was hired by one very happy couple who were looking for us to provide a formal sit-down meal to feed 75 people at their traditional-style wedding.
When the new Mr and Mrs Foster first called up customer services, they were pleased to discover that the Hog Roast Bristol team never do anything by halves. From providing real crockery and cutlery; to serving a mouth-wateringly delicious menu and discreetly disposing of the aftermath offsite, the catering crew always ensures that our clients never have to lift a finger.
On the biggest day of their lives, the betrothed pair excitedly exchanged vows while the Hog Roast Bristol catering team were busy transforming the reception venue into an extravagant dining hall. Working against time, the team began by slow roasting a pig using our trusty Hog Master and preparing the selection of canapes which included mini tomato and mozzarella pizza’s topped with sliced Greek olives, vegetarian-friendly mini quiche with a variety of fillings, Dim Sum and a selection of Indian snacks.
Before long, the newlyweds and their guests arrived at Bristol’s famous Westbury on Trym Village Hall, a stunning Victorian Gothic building with an open beamed roof where the Hog Roast team had laid out the buffet of appetizers – but their work was far from over! While the guests mingled and enjoyed the entrée’s, the catering team worked tirelessly to prepare the main menu of slow roasted pig served with apple sauce stuffing and crispy crackling, rosemary seasoned spring lamb with mint and a mustard and dill sauce and sirloin of roast beef. Aside from the succulent meats, guests were able to choose their own side dishes from a buffet of Thai, mixed and mozzarella and tomato salads and to round off their meal, the catering team had rustled up chocolate torte and vacherins of strawberries and passion fruit cream which went down a real treat!
It was clean plates all round when the evening drew to a close and Mr and Mrs Foster have since been in touch to thank the Hog Roast Bristol team again for making their wedding day so memorable.
